Our distinguished panel of speakers, including representatives from the City of Independence (Chris Johnson – IT Director), and Arctic Wolf (Eddie Perez – SE) will shed light on the evolving landscape of cyber threats in the public sector. Guest Speaker Spotlight:
Chris Johnson is a US Air Force Veteran, Non-Profit Director, and Municipal Government IT Leader. He brings 25 years of progressive leadership across all facets of technology strategy, security, and operations. In his current role as Manager of the Municipal Cyber Center for the City of Independence, Missouri, he serves a small team of public servants delivering high quality IT services ensuring availability and security of municipal government services and information including daily operations of Help Desk, Deskside Support, Systems Administration and Engineering, and Security Operations. During his time with the City, Chris has developed a 7-year $5M cyber strategy that has driven comprehensive staff development and training, infrastructure modernization, tools and services enhancements, and improved service delivery. Chris also serves as the Region 7 (IA, NE KS, MO) Director for the Information Technology Disaster Resource Center (ITDRC.org). ITDRC is an international non-profit harnessing the collective resources of the technology community to deliver Information, Communications, and Technology (ICT) solutions connecting survivors and responders in crisis. ITDRC is powered by 3,700 technology professionals who volunteer their time and talents to serve those in need. Chris is a member of the Regional Homeland Security Coordination Committee, KC Chapters of the FBI InfraGard Program and FAIR Institute. When he is not serving others he can be found at home with his wife of 20 years and two teenage daughters floating or fishing in the lake.
